Best Way To Lose Fat Weight – Work With Your Body

We sometimes hear stories that exercise only burns small amounts of fuel (calories) such as jogging for 20 minutes only burns 180 calories. This is equivalent to two slices of bread which does not sound much for all that effort. But thinking of exercise in this way is really missing the point.

It is not so much what happens during an exercise session, what happens after it is what really matters. When you work your muscles properly it changes the hormonal state of your body so you burn more calories both during and after exercising. A strong fit body burns calories more efficiently and burns more of them.

This is where the true value of exercise comes into play. If you wish to lose weight it is an uphill battle just by reducing food intake alone. The problem with this method is that it will reduce your metabolism if you take in fewer calories than your body needs to maintain itself.

If you continue to diet you will need less and less food as your metabolism will get slower and slower. This is not good as your body has less volume of food to select its nutrients from so it suffers and has to make do with what it can.

Your body does not want to give up its fat stores and will do everything it can to prevent this. You will be fighting a losing battle as since time began man has been programmed to survive the harshest conditions which include long periods of not enough food. As each of us have different calorie needs it is impossible to tell where that 'set point' is in regards to eating enough to not trigger that slow down of the metabolism.

A good idea is to start with plenty of food - around 1800 for women and at least 2200 for men. Then slowly drop it 100 or so calories every few days till you start losing fat weight. You will have to count calories for a few weeks to do this but the effort will be worth it as you will know what works for you and once you have established that you can stop counting and keep following the same plan.

Strength training exercise done just 2-3 times each week will make any diet or food plan so much more effective. A strong fit body responds more quickly to fat loss and will lose less precious muscle tissue compared to the physical stress of dieting alone.

But you have to think differently taking this track as you need good nutrition to fuel your workouts otherwise you will not have the strength or energy to do justice to them. But when you think about it you will be so much healthier eating more high quality food that will also boost your metabolic rate which in turn helps you lose more fat.

So, rather than doing things that slow you metabolism (your fat burning machinery) you are working with your body with the emphasis on building health which will produce far better results in the long run. Try it and see for yourself.

Finally Lose Weight And Keep It Off For Good

Going on a weight loss journey is not just something you do - a process that begins when you make some changes and then ends when you have lost the excess weight. This is how most people view it and this mindset is part of the reason why 95 percent of all diets fail.

Many people just view the change in diet as the be-all and end-all of weight loss. They rarely think of beyond that 'event', yet this is even more important for long-term success. Losing weight is relatively easy as many people have found out - keeping it off is a whole different ball game.

The yo-yo affect of weight loss and weight gain is something that plagues many people and causes endless frustration and an endless struggle with their body. If you really want to get slim you have to put some things in place that will allow you to not only to lose the excess weight but to maintain that loss as well.

Number One. The most important factor for long-term weight loss success - a proper strength training exercise program to fix the problem right down at the root cause. Our modern day world has removed the 'work' our body needs to be slim and healthy so our metabolism slows to a crawl and we get fat, sick and old way before our time.

A proper strength training program performed 2-3 times each week will counter this and fix up your fat burning machinery right down at cellular level. No other type of activity or exercise will do this so do not expect to get a metabolic tune up from long duration low intensity activities - it is not going to happen...not any time soon...not ever.

Number Two. Support your exercise program with natural whole foods cooked from scratch at least 80 percent of the time. While you are eating processed foods you can forget about losing weight as they unbalance your hormones, upset your appetite regulation system and mess up your metabolism.

You need to put some effort into your exercise program if you wish to make the changes you need to make to increase your fat burning capacity and you need energy and strength to do that. A healthy eating plan goes hand in hand with proper exercise and you cannot short cut this.

These two things are what you need to put into place for long-term weight/fat loss. The biggest problem you may face is your own mind-set and this may need to be worked on at the same time you are working on the exercise and nutrition aspects. Higher levels of motivation and commitment may need to be developed to support yourself.

You will need to spend a little time of doing these things - think of it like a part-time job. But what better investment could you be making in yourself? The end result is a strong, lean, slim healthy body - something you want and are prepared to put some effort into. The time is going to pass anyway so why not spend it doing something of value to your self esteem, your health and ultimately your life?
